For example, two travelers on a 5-night trip with $600 in flights, $150 a night for lodging, $60 each a day for food, $300 of activities and $150 of shopping come to $2,520, or $2,772 with a 10% buffer.

The results show the total, the cost per person, per day and per person per day, and each part’s share. Add the months until you leave to see how much to set aside each month — $2,772 over 9 months is $308 a month.
