About the Stock Change Percentage Calculator
Use our Stock Change Percentage Calculator to see how much a stock’s price has risen or fallen in percentage terms — or to work out the final price after a given change, or the initial price before it.
The percentage change is the final price minus the initial price, divided by the initial price. A stock that goes from $50 to $60 is up 20%; one that falls back from $60 to $50 is down 16.67%, because the fall is measured from the higher price.
Add the shares you hold to see what they were worth and your gain or loss, and the dividends paid over the period to see your total return and the price at which the dividends make up for a fall.
Fees and taxes are not included, so treat the results as an estimate. To work out the profit on a trade after broker fees, use our Stock Profit Calculator.
