About the Hours To Money Calculator
Use our Hours To Money Calculator to work out a week of hourly pay three ways: what your hours earn, how many hours it takes to earn an amount, or what rate you’d need — with overtime if you have it — and what that week adds up to over a month and a year.
Earnings are hours times the rate, with overtime hours at a multiple of it. For example, 40 hours at $20 plus 5 overtime hours at time and a half ($30) earn $950 a week — $49,400 a year over 52 paid weeks.
Working backwards, $500 at $15 an hour takes 33.34 hours. With overtime after 40 hours, $1,000 at $20 takes 40 hours at the regular rate plus 6.67 at $30 — 46.67 hours. And $1,000 in a 37.5-hour week takes $26.67 an hour. The hours and rate are rounded up, so you always reach the amount.
You enter the overtime hours and the multiplier; the calculator doesn’t decide whether overtime is owed. All figures are before taxes, so treat the results as an estimate.
