Utilities Cost Per Month Calculator

Add Up Your Household Bills Into One Monthly and Yearly Cost — Whatever Schedule They Come On.

Use our Utilities Cost Per Month Calculator to add up your household bills — electricity, gas, water, trash, internet, phone and more — into one monthly and yearly cost, whatever schedule each bill comes on.

Enter each bill as you pay it and choose how often it comes: weekly, every 2 or 4 weeks, monthly, every 2 months, quarterly, every 6 months or yearly. The calculator turns each into a monthly amount, so a $180 quarterly water bill counts as $60 a month. For example, $145 for electricity, $85 for gas, $70 for water, $30 for trash, $65 for internet and $110 for phones come to $505 a month, or $6,060 a year.

Add the number of people sharing to see each person’s part — $126.25 a month each for four people — and a monthly budget to see what’s left: $470 of bills in a $550 budget leaves $80. The results also show each bill’s share of the total, so you can see which costs the most.

For seasonal bills, enter a 12-month average rather than the latest bill, and leave out deposits and set-up fees; treat the results as an estimate. To plan the rest of your monthly spending, use our Monthly Budget Calculator; to split rent and bills between roommates, our Room Rent Calculator. If your utility announces a rate increase, our Utility Rate Increase Calculator shows your new bill and how much less you’d need to use to pay the same. To turn a year of uneven bills into the same payment every month, use our Budget Billing Calculator.
